Between Remy and Jimmy's bottle of milk

Scene 1

_James J. Braddock pre- title match Press Conference_ Cinderella man 2005

Journalist: what changed jimmy? I mean you couldn’t win a fight for love of money, right? Hahah how you explain your comeback?!

James J. Braddock: well you know the truth is, for number of years I was fighting injured, uh I broke my hand, more than once uh I got a car accident one time when I was on the road, uh I had..lot of bad luck I think. And this time around I know what I’m fighting for.

Journalist: oh yea? What’s that Jimmy?

James: Milk, this time I’m fighting for milk.

Scene 2

_Remy the rat standing on the roof of a building in Paris looking at Gusteau's restaurant_

Anton Ego reading his critique about his last night meal in Gusteau’s restaurant: Not everyone can become a great artist, but a great artist can come from anywhere. It’s hard to imagine more humble origins than those of the genius now cooking at Gusteaus, who is in this critique’s opinion, nothing less than the final chef in France.

Between the brilliant rat from the dirties places in Paris with his very humble or even scum origins and the world champion Cinderella man who couldn’t even afford to keep his children at his house because of the lack of money and work, not mentioning of course the lack of electricity and food, and of course milk, the one thing he’s fighting for later. There was a common thing between the two, an eager to reach greatness. But what’s great about their eager that’s not coming from the desire of being rich famous or even in control. Their eager to reach greatness is coming from the lowest point of any creature soul. The Break down.

Jimmy’s break down point was when his daughter was hungry and couldn’t even afford to pay for a bottle of milk. Not mentioning he was a very successful boxer before that. And Remy’s break down point was when his own father told him that he couldn’t be more than a normal rat who lives in the Sewer pipes of Paris, though he knew he loves cooking more than anything.

My point of view here is, I don’t think there’s a more powerful thing on earth than this. That killing desire not to success, not to being rich and wealthy, just this desire to survive, to not reach that breaking down point again. Ever. That’s where most of the world’s greatest people came from, why else do you think most of them had very difficult childhoods and grew up in bad conditions. I’m not saying that people who grew up in normal conditions or didn’t have any major break downs can’t be great. I’m just saying that the power comes from reaching your breaking down is beyond imagination. Taking Remy’s and Jimmy for Example.
